Heart attack

Ok, trying to calm down. Just got a call from Haden's school, they were asking if Haden was sick today, is that why he was out of school. I am speechless for a few seconds and then say "I dropped him off at school this morning!!" She says he was marked absent then says, "I hate when that happens." and calls the classroom to make sure he is there...jeez....I wonder how many times that has happened shen they call parents!

This weekend was fairly uneventful..Saturday I spent mostly at home cleaning and such....and watching movies and crying...jeez...I can cry at the drop of a hat these days...let me go find that medicine...

Sunday, the boys and I went and visited Grandma and Grandpa Tyson. They have unfortunately been having to paint the whole house before they get their new carpet that they had to remove after the storm.
Here are a few pics...
I should get some type of prize for crazy animal photo here...here is Hector devouring a sucker he was able to get his hands paws on. This is great....

I havent had a "tantrum of the day" photo lately....not because they werent happening, just that I didnt get a pic...the pics dont do his tantrum justice,,,he was screaming and freaking out so much...I thought I was going to have to pull over and console him!!

A few very good things happened this weekend...the 2 (thats right 2) CD's in the drive in my computer came out on their own

AND

Vivian gave me a *&^@ load of girl scout cookies...

"Going to school to get some knowledge" - Marlin

Here is a new thing I am doing. I have been trying to become more active in the community, meeting the neighbors, keeping an eye on things, etc. The City of Deer Park offers a Citizens Police Academy once a year for free for citizens who just want to learn more about policing and the department. Last night was the first night...it was a lot of fun. Got to meet the police chief, who has only been on the job for a few months. Our previous police cheif passed away suddenly last year. Also got to meet another officer who did a presentation and got to tour the police station, including the jail (holding facility). It was all very interesting! I would look into it for your community.

I didnt get any pictures, but here is a picture of our police station, which is only 4 years old, very nice facility!

I finally took some pics tonight....here is Christian after getting into the chocolate milk mix..he LOVES the choc milk mix...sometimes he gets mad when I put milk in the glass...anyway, if you arent watching, if you think he is preoccupied with Go, Diego, Go, that is when he meanders on in to the kitchen. He just sticks his hand on in and this is the result...

And he was telling me NO!, not to take the picture....

Chris and Kaelen were having a dad/son bonding moment and doing some work on the boat...

Haden multi-tasking - reading, picking his nose and watching Dora!...thats one talented kid, just like his mommy..I am the queen of multi-tasking, in fact, I am doing 3 other things as I am writing this blog....

Notice how Haden is focused and everything around him is blurry???? Uh-huh...that was on purpose!!!

One of my ongoing projects, my photo wall..this is what I have so far...still a work in progress..

Hope you enjoyed your Tyson fix for the day..now I am off to complete a neverending privilege log for work...

OK....I have been a bad blogger...I think the photo day BFF Pregnant K and I took has intimidated me. I just feel insecure about picture taking now, I feel guilty not doing it on manual, but manual takes too long for me to figure out! And I dont have that kind of time with the boys! I guess I just need more practice...sigh, wahhh, woe is me....

Thats my Boo-Friggity-Hoo for the day...Oh, that and I cant stop eating all of the candy in my office....

But on a good note, I love my hair!!!!

Peace out

P.S., I Love You

OK, I have been wanting to see this movie for a while and had recorded but never got around to watching it....I watched it today and cried the whole way through...I was so not expecting that to happen...It was so sad....has anyone else seen this? what are your thoughts?

I love sad movies...one I can remember crying this hard about last was The Notebook, which still makes me cry every time I see it....sad movies are so carthargic...I wont cry at most things in my own life, btu will cry at a movie, so the release is good for me!

And, PS has Denny (from Grey's Anatomy) in it...I really like that actor and he has an Irish accent in the movie.....oh, and he is going to be in The Watchment, whenever they decide to release it....

Trying to look like I have a clue....

So BFF Pregnant K and I went to the park today to work on some photography. I had some exercises from my photo class that were supposed to help me get more familiar with settings and stuff...

So here is running water..

It should be getting less detailed..
And less..

Until it is silky....
Looks like I acheived that goal, but all of the little sprays of water look like fireworks!!!

Here are some flowers...

Another one of my subjects.....still no name, readers!!!!

She is going to kill me....here is Karen....she didnt have her big tripod because it was broken....she shouldnt be on the ground like this!!

Day of creativity...

After our photo exercises, BFF Very Creative K and I went to lunch and then went to a scrapbooking store....I bought a small chip board album and some paper...K will be proud, this is what I put together when I got home.....

I am proud of myself, I still have a bunch of embellishments to put on it. Check out the real creative one, Paisley Petals.

Grooming

Chris took the boys to get haircuts this evening, here is the result....

Haden looks much better...contrary to his expression, he was happy with it...

Christian didnt look to different, but he got a trim nonetheless....

Stimulate?

I knew the new Stimulus package they are touting had some pork in it, but I didnt realize how much....I found this list of what the GOP thinks are the things that are a little ridiculus...I must agree..seriously...what happened to all of those promises about no earmarks!! no pork!!

On Monday, Congressional Republican leaders put out a list of what they call wasteful provisions in the Senate version of the nearly $900 billion stimulus bill that is being debated:
The Senate is currently the nearly $900 billion economic stimulus bill.
• $2 billion earmark to re-start FutureGen, a near-zero emissions coal power plant in Illinois that the Department of Energy defunded last year because it said the project was inefficient.
• A $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film.
• $650 million for the digital television converter box coupon program.
• $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship).
• $448 million for constructing the Department of Homeland Security headquarters.
• $248 million for furniture at the new Homeland Security headquarters.
• $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees.
• $400 million for the Centers for Disease Control to screen and prevent STD's.
• $1.4 billion for rural waste disposal programs.
• $125 million for the Washington sewer system.
• $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities.
• $1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion.
• $75 million for "smoking cessation activities."
• $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges.
• $75 million for salaries of employees at the FBI.
• $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction.
• $500 million for flood reduction projects on the Mississippi River.
• $10 million to inspect canals in urban areas.
• $6 billion to turn federal buildings into "green" buildings.
• $500 million for state and local fire stations.
• $650 million for wildland fire management on forest service lands.
• $1.2 billion for "youth activities," including youth summer job programs.
• $88 million for renovating the headquarters of the Public Health Service.
• $412 million for CDC buildings and property.
• $500 million for building and repairing National Institutes of Health facilities in Bethesda, Maryland.
• $160 million for "paid volunteers" at the Corporation for National and Community Service.
• $5.5 million for "energy efficiency initiatives" at the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration.
• $850 million for Amtrak.
• $100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint.
• $75 million to construct a "security training" facility for State Department Security officers when they can be trained at existing facilities of other agencies.
• $110 million to the Farm Service Agency to upgrade computer systems.
• $200 million in funding for the lease of alternative energy vehicles for use on military installations.

While I am sure many of these things are needed, I dont think you can call them something that is going to stimulate our ailing economy...oh, and I was thinking of making a movie, can I get some money from the gov't? Oh yeah, and I owe some back taxes too, do I really have to take care of those and can't you waive the penalties??

Same life, different day

None of my own pics to post..sorry...as usual, I spent my weekend cleaning...still didnt get everything clean...Christian and I went to the mall and walked around on Saturday night, that was neat...made me appreciate more my old age, thanking God I wasn't as teenager again....

I had wanted to take a pic of the beautiful Harris County Civil Courthouse this morning as that is where I had to be bright and early. First day of trial, love to watch jury selection, although now I am back at the office working on other stuff...

Here is where I spent my morning, the beautiful, new state of the art courthouse, your tax dollars at work....

I am bombarded with work these days, numerous cases all going on at the same time...reminds me of old times.....
