Soap Box

OK, the boys and I ran to Houston Garden Center to see what we could get at their 1/2 price sale!

Some good sales, but my advice? Go at night! We were there 10 minutes and thought we were going to die...so flippin hot...

I listen to mostly news in the car...I flip between Fox news, CNN and talk radio (both left and right).

Today I listened to just news....where as I did hear other not so popular news, mostly what I heard about was MJ and the south carolina governor...

OK, I understand MJ's death is big news...I was a fan, I loved his music..I tried not to judge or form an opinion on his strange behavior later in his life....but I dont care whether he was on a cocktail of drugs..I dont care what weird habits he had or how much debt he was in or anything! There are hours and hours spent on this. This stuff should be saved for Entertainment shows or music organizations or stuff like that.

Sanford of S.C. - who cares. The only people who should care about this man are his constituents. Sure, a brief story on the national news...but I do not want to hear his intimate emails with his mistress....I do not care what he said years ago during the Clinton impeachment that make him a hypocrite...seriously, why do we care about every personal detail of this mans life??? Or any politicians life, they all screw up, just like average people and honestly I am getting sick of it...I dont care what party they are a member of...I DONT CARE..

I want to know the Weather, local stories, economy issues, political (only as it pertains to the welfare of this country), national security, fraud in our Senate and Congress and what is supposed to be done about it, etc, etc, etc...

I dont care what Michelle Obama wore in France or who she had lunch while she was there.....

I want to know what her husband is talking about, what he is doing to try to fix things...not what he gave the Queen...

Seriously, the media is out of control...even Fox does this crap, although they arent as bad as others....they are so bias one way or the other it is ridiculus..they dont even try to appear otherwise...I was sick during the election at the way it was covered...our country is in a sad state....and the media has played a huge part in it....

Now off to clean...:-)

In Summary..

Whats a happenin?

** Christian seems to have become an expert at peepeeing in the potty in just a few days...has not peed is his diaper in the last 3 nights!!
** Needs to work on poopoo in the potty...Haden was the exact same way!**

** I am so behind in work because of last week..ughhh
** Someone please call the house fairy to come clean my house
** People are too concerned about MJ's death to know this happened..our society is in sad shape to become so obssessed with a celebrity's death...or maybe it is just the media
** My aunt is now in Hospice and will soon leave us to begin a new life....please pray for her and our family....

And...I am still waiting for that house fairy....and the coffee pot fairy (my cup is empty)

And the best news!

We have been working on potty training Christian. Today he came to me and told me he had to go and then went pee pee in the potty! He took a nap in underwear with no accidents, then when I got him up, he went poo poo and pee pee in the potty!! Yah!!! He did have a few accidents but overall did great! I am so happy. I want him to be able to start pre-school in August and he needs to be potty trained!

Time

Hello all, I have been pretty busy at work for a while, which is where I do most of my blogging, hence the reason I havent done much blogging lately...

  • I got the elliptical machine from Katie (Thanks Katie) and have gotten on it once for a short amount of time, I plan on working my way up....dont count me out yet, I just got it on Sunday!
  • I have watched the following movies: Taken, Gran Torino, Marley & Me and She's just not that into you. Good ones! I recommend them all!!
  • The boys have been staying pretty busy: Kaelen has a conditioning camp for athletics, 2 hours a day, 4 days a week for 7 weeks..he spends most of the rest of his day swimming, playing with friends and not doing the things I want him to do! Haden and Christian have been going to the sitter, but have still been busy with swimming and fun stuff on the weekend with grandparents.
  • My parents are moving right along with the house, plumbing is done, AC and heating is in the process and electricity will be done soon, someday I will post pictures.
  • Hector is getting spoiled since we all feel so bad for him now that Daisy is in doggie heaven and he is alone....
  • Obama is still on a rampage to do as much damage to the country as possible in the shortest amount of time possible....
  • My little brother is supposed to be out of the Navy sometime in August..he and his family should be down here sometime after that..
  • Farm Town on Facebook is evil.....

There is a brief update of what has been going on in our world....

Oh, and also, I do NOT recommend anyone go to Firestone for work on your vehicle, they tried to screw us royally on brakes. Ask me sometime and I will tell you the story...

I was having a discussion with a younger attorney today about the different generations...we did some research to aid in our discussion...I found this all very interesting...some of these I had never heard of...

  • Interbellum Generation - those born at the dawn of the 20th century. Grew up during the 1920s.
  • The Greatest Generation, the generation of veterans that fought and won World War II. Journalist Tom Brokaw dubbed this the Greatest Generation in a 1998 book of the same name.
  • The Silent Generation was the generation born between the two World Wars, who were too young to join the service when World War II started. Many had fathers who served in World War I.
  • The Baby Boom Generation was the generation born just after World War II, a time that included a 14-year increase in birthrate worldwide. Baby Boomers in their teenage and college years were characteristically part of the 1960s counterculture, but later became more ideologically divided, although the generation remained widely committed to keystone values such as gender equality, racial equality, and environmental stewardship.
  • Generation Jones was the generation of children in the 1960s, who came of age in the middle to late 1970s and early 1980s. The election of Barack Obama to the U.S. Presidency created significantly increased awareness of this generation as many prominent sources referred to Obama as specifically a member of Generation Jones.
  • Generation X is the generation connected to the pop culture of the 1980s and 1990s they grew up in. Other names used interchangeably with Generation X are Reagan Generation, 13th Generation, and Baby Busters. Most of this generation are children of The Baby Boomers and The Silent Generation. Those born before 1973 spent most of their teen years in the 1980s.The last of those in Generation X were born in 1981 and graduated high school in 1999.
  • The MTV Generation are typically conceived as a "cusp" generation between Generation X and Generation Y that possess definable traits of both. While the music video and MTV rose to prominence during this generation's formative period, it is also notable for being the last generation able to compare hardwired and analog technologies to wireless and digital technologies based upon personal experiences. They are also the generation with the last personal memories of the Cold War era.
  • The Generation Y, or the Millennials, are said to be dependent on digital technology. The start of this generation is marked by those born in 1982, or graduated high school in 2000.The end is far less clear, and can range anywhere from 1994 to 2003. It is in this generation that mobile phones, PCs and portable entertainment devices became affordable and readily available when the Gen Yers were in their teens or early 20s.
  • Generation Z are modern children, born from somewhere in the second half of the 1990s to the present. In the early to mid 2010s, the yet-to-exist generation after this will be born.

Lets take a break from stupid , crazy people going on shooting sprees to enjoy some of the finer things in life...

See you soon guys!!

Daisy May

I have some sad news to report tonight...one of our little dogs, Daisy, died tonight....she and Hector got out of the front door and as usual, tried to go after a much larger dog on the other side of the street...Daisy was unfortunate enough to be the one to get hit....I picked her up and brought her into the house, but she died a few minutes later....

I got Daisy from the Animal Emergency Clinic at least 1o years ago, before Chris and I were even married....she was brought into the clinic with her litter mates all of which had parvo, she was only a few months old, even if that. We were able to save 3 of the four..and Kaelen came up to the clinic and we picked her as the one we wanted...she was shorter than the others and had a pink eye....she and Hector have been best buds since we brought her home...I dont know how is he is going to handle it...she barked at everything! every noise...she had bad skin...she was a sweet girl...she liked to snuggle and she would hide things she thought were prizes, so Hector wouldnt get them.... she even survived the mean ass pit bull next door that broke through our fence and tried to eat them both...

We are really going to miss her, and I never expected her to go like this......

Daisy, I hope you are running and chasing dogs 10 x bigger than you in doggie heaven, and I hope you never have to itch or scratch again...just remember Daisy we will miss you down here..we love you Daisy May....

Many years ago, 2000?
They were so young..
In May, on Spring Break...
Good bye little girl....

Ugghhhhh

Things feel out of whack when I dont have sufficient time to read blogs and blog myself!!!

I am actually still working, but thought I would do a real quick post.

We had a birthday party this weekend at Old Macdonalds Farm in Humble, off 1960..it was quite impressed..

Here is the link

Anyway, so they had numerous petting zoos, lots of animals, including these donkeys

There was a train that went around the whole park....I took this picture during one of our rides..a peacock just walkin around uncaged...

They had lots of play areas, here was one...

Ginormous sand hill, where Christian spent most of his time

lots of deer, just hanging out, not caged, not scared of anyone.

Pot belly pigs

They had a pool...Christian did great!

It was a party for a little girl, so she had this cake ...it was Tinkerbell and I was jeaous....she was turning 3 and got so many cute clothes and a drivable Barbie car...man, I would love to have parties for a girl....

There were tons more stuff I didnt post pictures of..check out the site...its a great party place even though it is kind of far out for some of us...
